Abby + Tony | Wedding

The day has finally arrived (as I’m sure Abby and Tony would attest to as well)…and that day is the day for Abby and Tony’s wedding!! I have been so excited and looking forward to Abby and Tony’s wedding ever since I first started talking to the happy couple.

For those of you who do not know, Abby and Tony met at Universal Studios. At the time, Abby was working for the Universal Studio Hollywood and Tony was pouring concrete as part of the ongoing renovations to the property. The first time Tony met Abby’s family was Thanksgiving, it was also when Abby first knew that she loved Tony. They have enjoyed so many memorable moments with each other including taking boat trips to go fishing. Possibly one of the most memorable was Tony surprised her with his proposal as they were riding bikes around Yosemite Valley.

Fast forward to May and we have arrived at a new memorable moment…their wedding day. I love seeing how each couple develops and executes their wedding plans because of how it shows each couple’s personality. Abby and Tony had the most perfect intimate affair with family and close friends. The locations for the ceremony and the reception were walking distance away from each other…and by walking distance I mean the reception was less than half a block away from the ceremony.

While Abby was getting ready at the Marriott Hotel in Burbank, Tony and the groomsmen were getting ready at Abby’s parent’s house which was doubling as the reception location. Abby and Tony met in the front yard for their first time seeing each other on their wedding day. While all of the preparations for the reception were going on in the backyard, Abby and Tony were able to spend a few quiet moments together.

After the first look the bridal party rejoined Abby and Tony for their group pictures in the front yard.

The ceremony was at Faith Presbyterian Church which was walking distance away from Abby’s parent’s house. Dylan and Ruby were the perfect ring bearer and flower girl!

After the ceremony, it was headed back over to Abby’s parent’s house for the reception. The brief rainfall did not keep the party from getting underway as the sky cleared and the kids hit the dance floor.

Abby and Tony kicked off the official festivities with their first dance together as a married couple. Part of what I love about weddings are they provide an opportunity for unmarried guests to dream about their own wedding. Abby and Tony’s first dance provided an opportunity for Tony’s daughter, Ruby, to watch and revel in the moment of seeing her dad dance with his bride.

The cake cutting process always is interesting because it seems that one of the newlyweds always throws whatever preconceived agreements out the window when it comes to whether or not they will smash the cake in their love’s face.

The garter and bouquet toss held a special meaning for the happy couple as Tony’s brother caught the garter and Abby’s sister caught the bouquet.

Before we knew it, it was time to blow our bubbles, say our goodbyes, and cheer one last time as the happy couple made their exit to spend their honeymoon in the Philippines.
